As a kid, RuneScape was a game I always loved to play. It’s not a deep read, by any means, but it’s fun, engaging, and it moves along quickly. As you can imagine, this factor was not apparent in Betrayal. The characters are all likeable and realistic. It hits bookshelves in March of It is an awsome story I recommend you all to read it.

BAF was clearly written to appeal to the Runescape fan. Jagex auctioned ten such copies of the novel, one per week over a period of ten weeks. It’s actually a pretty fun read!

So writing from the perspective of someone who does not valador Runescape I’ve actually never heard of it the three books in this story are really pretty good. I have been a huge fan of the Runescape game for many years now, and originally purchased this book back when it was published in !

Open Preview See a Problem? I won’t delve to deeply into the plot but it was very well constructed and I found it to be a real page turner. The protagonist is a young hunter, Kara-Meir, who is also featured in the RuneScape video game.

This fantasy epic opens with the discovery of a mysterious woman, found close to death within the walls of Falador Castle. Certain plot elements are only introduced into the narrative at the point they are revealed to be important, the flow of the book is disrupted by excessive use of chapters seventy-seven in four hundred odd pages!

It was like I was back in high school and college reading Gygax and Greenwood’s early stuff. When a young woman appears in the teeth of the storm, her sudden arrival launches a chain of events that endangers the very fabric of magic. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy, whether you’ve ever played the Runescape game or not. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up.
