How can it be said that the Self is limited? He moves about, naked and free, Aware that all this is only the Self.
Free also is It from knowledge, theoretical and practical, Self being all, my mind, do not cry. That bliss absolute, ever-indestructible, but a Source of bliss to all, is the Avadhut. I have neither Guru nor initiation; I have no discipline, and no duty to perform.
You are the essence of knowledge, indomitable, eternal, ever free from modifications. You are not the mind; you’re the supreme Reality. Far, far from me also is egotism.

Why do you cry? I am the nectar which is knowledge absolute; beyond the range of the senses I am. My beloved mind, why do you cry? Some there are that prize non-dualism, others hold to dualism. The singer of the Avadhuta Gita avadnuta Dattatreya, an Avadhuta, and according to the Nath Sampradaya, the work was heard and transcribed by two of Dattatreya’s disciples—Swami and Kartika. Deceit and hypocrisy, truth and untruth have no place in me.
This I know for sure. I am pure knowledge, imperishable, infinite. Concentrated bliss, alone and secondless, is Reality and that is the Avadhut. Such a person is held to be pure consciousness in human form. In Hinduism, it is the interior Guru within the person, the Sadashiva, the all pervading ultimate Reality Brahman that is the Atman soul within. The one Self, the supreme Reality, Neither creates, nor sustains, nor destroys anything. The text’s nirguni Brahman ideas influenced the poetry of Kabirstates Rigopoulos.

Space-like, the avadhhta of Immortality am I. It is neither true nor untrue. It is neither a part nor is It divided. The transcendental reality is revealed [by Avadhuta Gita] as the Universe. Even the ancient scriptures cannot speak of Him perfectly.
Know that by nature I am freedom Absolute. I am beyond the senses, I am knowledge and bliss. Shiva is the soul within I am thus the pure Shiva, devoid of all doubt. So, now, while I’m in aadhuta state of samarasa, I, the Avadhut, have spoken of the Truth.
