Her Sexiest Mistake
Mia Appleby has it all. This is what I’m talking about.
One of Jill Shalvis’ earlier books that’s being reissued in digital format, Her Favorite Mistake was a cute and easy read. The contemporary romances with sexy heroes, spunky heroines and a steamy romance. She keeps trying to deny there’s more than just sex but Kevin feels it right off the bat and digs deep to try and reach Mia.

I love the main characters. What I also liked about this book is the dynamics between Kevin’s relationship with his troubled younger brother and Mia’s relationship with her niece.

Neither will her runaway Goth niece, Hope, who inconveniently shows up on her doorstep with hopes for a new life. ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley. It was hard to put down.
The secondary romance between Mike and Tess was a cute one and I liked seeing them come together, and to seeing Mike come into his own mistqke well.
I liked the characters, especially Kevin. For me, a good romance novel is as good as its supporting cast. And speaking of Kevin…man, he is definitely not a mistake. You may have read it already. I love this author, but this one wasn’t the best I’ve read by her. He wanted more from the get go and she held back. When Kevin tells her he loves her because she was generous enough to take in a homeless teen, he seems to have forgotten that he had to guilt her into doing it.
And it’s not as good as her more recent works. Until Kevin McKnight moves in down the street. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Dec 05, PepsiGirl rated it it was amazing Shelves: I really cared about all of the nieces and brothers and friends.

And that was rather a problem for me. There was Mia Appleby, and she has been working her butt off to shed her old life and create a whole new identity for herself. She’s determined never to be like that so she becomes a successful Ad Exec with an expensive house, expensive clothes and a closed off personality.
Find more on the blog: Clearly, she’d be better off living with Mia and Kevin but all we see near the end of the book is that her mom, Sugar who is definitely the candidate for worst mother of the century wants her back and that she and Mia have accepted each other to have her back for holidays and the like.
